Exilium is an independent, work-in-progress game. This is a plain-language starting draft and not formal legal advice. If these terms matter to your situation, please consult a qualified professional.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Exilium (the "Game"), a browser-based idle role-playing game available at exiliumidle.com. By creating an account or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please choose a strong, unique password and let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may hold only one account unless we agree otherwise.
3. Fair play & acceptable use
Exilium is a server-authoritative game: the server is the source of truth for your progress. To keep the game fair for everyone, you agree not to:
- use bots, scripts, macros, or other automation to play on your behalf;
- exploit bugs, manipulate game state, or tamper with network requests, memory, or saved data to gain an unfair advantage;
- abuse the player-run economy, chat, or marketplace — including scamming, spamming, harassment, or exploiting pricing errors;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Game or its infrastructure.
We may adjust, roll back, or remove progress or items obtained through conduct that violates these Terms.
4. Virtual items & progress
Any in-game currency, items, characters, and progress are part of the Game and have no real-world monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold, or exchanged for real money outside the Game, and you do not own them — you hold a limited license to use them within the Game while your account is active.
5. Alpha status
Exilium is in active development. Expect bugs, incomplete features, balance changes, downtime, and — while the game is in alpha — the possibility that progress may be reset. We do not guarantee that any progress, items, or account data will be preserved between updates.
6. Content and conduct in shared spaces
Features such as chat, leaderboards, and the marketplace let you interact with other players. You are responsible for what you post, and you agree not to share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or otherwise harmful. We may moderate, remove content, or restrict access at our discretion.
7. The game is provided "as is"
The Game is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of progress, data, or other damages arising from your use of the Game.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Game at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Game. You may stop playing and request deletion of your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Game evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to play after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
